Constant Tension for Long Travel
A magnetic hysteresis cable reel keeps cable tension steady over long or high-speed travel. It suits large machinery that moves in parallel, where a spring reel cannot provide enough length or consistent tension. The magnetic hysteresis shaft forms a controlled magnetic couple, so the drum pays out and takes up cable without the tension swing of a spring.
Construction
The unit comprises an integral reduction box, a power head and a power collection slide box. The cable winding can be arranged as multiple windings or a single row, and the drum can be split for transport.
Where It Is Used
Large gantry and portal cranes, stackers and reclaimers, ship-to-shore and yard equipment, and any installation with long parallel travel where cable must be managed under controlled tension.

Confirm the travel distance and speed, the cable type and diameter, the number of circuits, the supply voltage and the required tension. The reel is selected to the travel envelope and the cable load.
