Cable Management in Hazardous Areas
An explosion proof cord reel manages the cable for drop lights and power tools in locations where a fixed receptacle is not practical and where the atmosphere requires hazardous-area approval. The reel carries the explosion proof rating together with the cord and the connection points.
Construction
The cord feeds onto the steel reel through a four-roller adjustable cable guide with a ball stop, and the reel uses an integral spring for retraction. The supplied cord is 100 feet of SOOW cable.
Where It Is Used
Hazardous and flammable-atmosphere areas - petrochemical, chemical, offshore and marine installations - where temporary lighting or tools are used and the equipment must carry the area classification.

Confirm the area classification, the required cord length and gauge, the circuit rating and the mounting arrangement. The reel rating must match the classification of the location where it will be installed.
